Chris has lived his entire life in Kitchener-Waterloo. He obtained his black belt on November 8, 2003. In his prime, he trained an average of 3 nights per week through bumps, bruises, ankle sprains, and even broken bones, for over a decade. He has over 1800 classes and more than 15 years of training in Taekwondo and Hapkido including over ten years of instructing. He is a master (4th Dan black belt) in both disciplines.
Chris clearly explains each technique and its application, and can still demonstrate them too. Many techniques have more than one application. Other schools often only teach one application of a technique (if they bother to teach you why you're doing the technique at all). Chris's teachings are well-balanced and complete while staying true to the original, authentic form of Taekwondo and Hapkido.
Alfred (Fred) Baehr is Chris's father. He has studied a mixture of Karate, Kung Fu, and most recently Tai Chi. With over 20 years of martial arts experience, he is an expert in the art of self defence. He has been featured in several local newspaper articles, and continues to train to this very day!
Fred appears throughout the instructional photos and videos on the website as Chris's demonstration partner for the techniques. He occasionally supervises classes and assists students with their technique.
